Product Launch Landing Page
The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B was a much anticipated release of the latest version of a credit-card-sized Linux computer made popular by makers, hackers and hobbyists. The Raspberry Pi product manager and marketing manager asked me to design and build a landing page that would allow users to purchase the new product, but also promote the more profitable accessories and peripherals.
Based on the brief from the business as well as prior Raspberry Pi launches, I knew that we wanted to tell the full story of our Raspberry Pi offering. This meant that the page would need to be considerably long and that the order of items on the page would be critical. We needed to tell our story in the right order to entice users to continue to scroll. We worked through a number of iterations in wireframe before committing to a high resolution version.
The final page was built using Bootstrap and was fully responsive. We conducted extensive QA testing across multiple browsers and devices. The page was scheduled to deploy precisely at the same time as the press conference announcing the product launch.
The product sold out within hours of the launch and we continued to take backorders and sell accessories at over 180% the normal run rate.
